Gulf Breeze Zoo Celebrates 40th Anniversary
The Gulf Breeze Zoo turns 40 on May 23! The Gulf Breeze Zoo opened on May 23, 1984 as the Zoo of Northwest Florida by the late Pat Quinn, Dr. Jim Potter, Bill Pullum and Bobby Switzer.
To celebrate, the Zoo is hosting a day of special events and activities to celebrate the past present and future of the Gulf Breeze Zoo on Thursday, May 23. The first 400 visitors will receive a commemorative magnet.

3 pm: | Scavenger Hunt raffle at Boma |
The Zoo began with approximately 60 animals on 19 acres of land and is now a 50-acre attraction with more than 1200 animals representing more than 125 species of animals from around the globe. The Zoo’s history is a valuable part of the region’s rich heritage and an integral part of the community.
