Description: The Gulf Breeze Zoo, a 50-acre facility located in the beautiful Florida panhandle, is seeking a Vet Tech/Registrar.

Vet Tech Role and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the clinic is kept clean and organized.
  • Perform monthly clinic inventory on supplies.
  • Run all fecal tests and ensure quarterly fecal tests are being done on time for the zoo collection. This includes fecal retests or tests needed due to immediate need.
  • Keep track of quarterly deworming program and draw up medications for each section and ensure animals are being dewormed properly.
  • Draw up and create med sheets for any animals that are put on medications.
  • Aid in medical procedures.
  • Input daily animal record summaries and send to corporate so all records are up to date within the week.

Registrar Role and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Aid in transferring written records to an online platform.
  • Input daily animal record summaries and send to corporate so all records are up to date within the week.

  • Keep track of quarterly deworming program and draw up medications for each section and ensure animals are being dewormed properly.
  • Draw up and create med sheets for any animals that are put on medications.
  • Aid in medical procedures.
  • Input daily animal record summaries and send to corporate so all records are up to date within the week. Summaries include medical and animal inventory changes.
  • Notes about animal behaviors, weights, etc. will also be input into the online database as given from the animal care daily summary sheet.
  • Aid in upkeeping all hand raising notes online and inputting all past records to digital form.
  • Ensure continuity for deworming and fecal programs across all Zoofari Parks. Work in coordination with the Corporate Animal Manager to go through all park’s medical records and chart what medications are being used for each species and amounts. Note continuity issues.

Education and Prerequisites:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • All applicants must be physically fit and active, able to lift 50 pounds comfortably and be able to work in all types of weather.
  • Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a valid driver’s license. Must maintain a non-smoking/vaping work environment.
  • Must be able to complete daily tasks in a timely fashion with minimal supervision once trained and keep accurate daily records.

Salary: From $15.00/hour and flexible scheduling

Schedule: Day Shift

Work Location: Gulf Breeze, FL 32563: Relocate before starting work (Required)
